The story goes that Giovanni Plum was making a sponge cake in Pompey when Mt. Vesuvius erupted. He ran out of his house with a sponge cake in his hand and on passing a shop an explosion caused a shower of dried fruit and nuts to fall on his cake – in Bubó we’re not convinced that this is how it all came about, but we do like the theory that we sometimes discover things by accident, which in turn gives us the freedom to experiment and create.

The bubó plumcakes are the result of experimentation and creativity in the bubó workshop. They are the perfect size to be enjoyed in a short space of time and at their best, left-overs not being a problem. They come in a variety of flavours and have been adapted to suit what our customers requested, now being lighter and less sweet.
