Akram is a cake composed of a soft, light white chocolate mousse, with a lemon and poppyseed sponge and a fruity apricot jam. It magically combines the sweetness of white chocolate with refreshing acidic lemon and a light layer of fruity apricot jam. The texture of the light and creamy mousse contrast well with the slight crunch of poppy seeds sponge and the apricot jam.
Akram is best served with a light sweet wine like Gra a Gra, produced by Gramona winery in Cataluña. This sweet wine is made from hand-selected grapes, “grain by grain” as the name suggests. It is best served cold to accompany the Citrus chocolatey flavours. It is also good served with a chilled cava.
